ChatGPT has taken the world by storm, and everyone is talking about it.

As an AI language model, it can generate text and provide information on various topics, including generating narratives or stories based on certain prompts or inputs. However, storytelling is a complex and multi-dimensional art form that goes beyond simply generating text.

Storytelling involves not only the words used but also the tone, pacing, and delivery of the story. It often includes the use of gestures, facial expressions, and other nonverbal cues to engage and captivate the audience.

While ChatGPT can generate text that can be used as part of a story, it cannot replicate the full experience of storytelling that a human storyteller can provide. A human storyteller can tailor the story to their audience and adapt to their reactions, creating a more immersive and interactive experience.

Therefore, if you use or have used ChatGPT for writing your speech or story, then it is important to add your own touch and personalize it. Here are 5 ways of how you can personalize a speech or story generated from ChatGPT.

5 Ways of Personalizing a ChatGPT generated writing:

5. Add Repetition When Needed –

Remember the speech “I have a dream”, and think if this speech was written by ChatGPT, it would have omitted all the “I have a dream” part from the speech. Now imagine that speech without the repetition that makes it memorable forever. When using ChatGPT, do remember to add your own repetition that will make your speech memorable.

4. Add Your Opinion –

With a click of a button, ChatGPT does provide you with facts and researched content, but what it can’t provide is your opinion on a topic. A story is incomplete without your personal view or take on it. Remember to add your own feelings to the story, and then you are creating an authentic and original story, the one people have more interest in. For example, ” I also have a personal connection to this topic, because I have been working on it for it since last 6 months” etc.

3. Add visions to your story-

It is important to make your speech descriptive and not prescriptive, and you can do that by making it visual. For example, if I ask “Paris” in the chat, I get all the facts and history of Paris. But I still can’t visualize it unless the speaker describes to me how the streets of Paris look: the old architecture buildings, the smell of freshly baked bread, the sound of whispering when speaking French, the streets in the center. Do remember to add these elements that can help your audience draw the picture, hear the sounds, smell the place and feel the touch when they hear your story.

2. A Story Without Emotion Is A Waste –

An AI-generated story will miss powerful emotions. It will not capture how happy, stressed, or excited you are. In my experience with ChatGPT, you will rarely come across words like “Trust me”, “I am on cloud nine,” or “We are all in this together”. As a result, a story straight for ChatGPT will be factual but not inspirational. To make it inspirational, add emotions to the story that make your listeners understand the state of mind and hence be able to connect with your story.

1. Add Charm to Your Closing Sentences –

Closing lines are a great way to make yourself memorable as a speaker. Closing lines need to be powerful, catchy, and spunky. In my experience with ChatGPT, closing lines are not creatively done as we do in a speech or story. The closing lines are quite mundane, so this is surely an area where speakers need to add their charm and creativity to get that powerful closing line.

ChatGPT is definitely very useful to write and craft a story, but without adding these 5 elements, you won’t be able to create magic, connection, and curiosity with your audience.
